Know you want to get married in or near Suffolk's county town but don't know where to start? Let us help!

Ipswich and the surrounding countryside has a wealth of options to choose from. From gorgeous, heritage venues, to brand new builds, there's something for all couples and all budgets.

Whether you are new to Suffolk or lived here all your life, check out this guide to Ipswich wedding venues.

The grand hotels

For timeless beauty, south Suffolk is spoiled. Hintlesham Hall has our heart and you will fall in love with Seckford Hall's modern booth area.

The made for weddings

Until you've partied at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall, can you even say you've been to a big event? The atmosphere is as banging as the food and the grounds - a great option for larger weddings.

The iconic, all-purpose venues

All Manor of Events have held this crown for a long time, but there's plenty of options. Woodhall Manor is a stunning manor house, that is exclusively yours - a real wow option. Don't miss The Venue at Kersey Mill too.

The barns

We love a barn! As a farming county, these are extra special for Suffolk. There are plenty to choose from, but we love Copdock Hall and Flint Hall in particular.

The unusual option

It's a wedding to remember with polar bears, lions and tigers a hair's breadth away. We're big fans of Jimmy's Farm - if you're nature lovers, it's a wedding like no other!

The in-town option

Many a good night has been had at Issacs - and it's a great option for a wedding too. Its gorgeous waterfront venue means you are spoiled for choice for your picture backdrops and you'll have plenty of options for before & after parties too.

Not in the town centre, but certainly an urban venue is the Belstead Brook Hotel. With a dedicated events room, spa and rooms for guest, it's got it all.

The they'll-look-after-you hotels

We're really impressed with the events coordinators at our two local Holiday Inns where weddings are a breeze. Holiday Inn Ipswich Orwell and Holiday Inn Ipswich are well worth a look for an easy-peasy wedding day.

And where did we get married? Well, Amy got married in a gorgeous barn called Moreves Barn in the Suffolk countryside, which very sadly no longer takes events. Gemma hired the very grand Gosfield Hall, just over the border in Essex.

And while they were both BRILLIANT, what made our wedding was the people. So, wherever you choose to celebrate - just make sure the right people are there to celebrate with you!
